The USAID-funded Market Systems and Resilience Activity (MSR) (2022-2027) is designed to strengthen commercial relationships between market actors, improve rural entrepreneurship ecosystem to enable greater market participation, particularly for women and youth, expand the availability of agri Services, and link targeted policy initiatives to improved local economic governance in 17 districts across the USAID-specified Zone of Interest (ZOI) in Northern Ghana. The MSR Activity focuses particularly on micro, small and medium sized enterprises (MSME’s) in a number of agricultural value chains:  cereals (maize); legumes (soybeans, cowpea, peanut, Bambara beans); tree crops (shea, mango); horticulture (vegetables).

MBC Africa is a key partner of ACDI VOCA Ghana in the implementation of the Feed the Future Ghana Market Systems and Resilience (MSR) Activity in four regions of Northern Ghana.

The project has four main objectives.

  • Increase commercialization and profitability of agriculture producers.
  • Increase the institutional capacity of market actors.
  • Improve market access and quality of business services.
  • Improve the enabling environment for local actors and investors.

MBC Africa works under objective 2 of MSR Project with role to identify, build capacities and sustainable business development models for SMEs on targeted agriculture value chains.

The Startup Accelerator is an intensive 12-month program specifically designed to drive early-stage startups toward success. Participants will benefit from personalized coaching, hands-on workshops covering essential business topics, and quarterly investor series to facilitate connections with potential funders.

  • Full-time entrepreneur
  • Legal Status: the business should be legally registered in the Zone of Influence (ZOI)

The Growth Accelerator offers a four-month program designed to propel businesses toward their next stage of success. Participants will benefit from personalized coaching sessions tailored to their specific challenges and goals. The program includes interactive workshops to help them learn how to make their business stand out, attract customers, manage their finances, and scale their operations. This comprehensive approach ensures that businesses not only gain valuable insights but also implement actionable strategies for sustainable growth.

In contrast to our startup program, which focuses on ideation and market entry, our growth program targets established companies ready to scale.

Requirements

  • Have a business duly registered in the Zone of Interest
  • Operate in at least one of the sector focus and value chains targeted by the MSR Program
  • Be a female or youth-owned and led business
  • Be registered as a limited liability company
  • Have at least three years in operation
  • Market traction demonstrating product-market fit validation
  • Have audited accounts for at least 2 years
  • Have an innovative, highly scalable, and impactful business
  • Business with best practices with a qualified and dedicated management team
  • Be beyond the idea stage
